At SHA billing, we believe that a computer assisted coding (CAC) can make a skilled radiology coder faster and more productive, but CAC cannot simply replace a skilled coder. Most of the CAC sales representatives promise 90% or even above accuracy, but this is not the fact based on our experience. We believe that CAC is a valuable productivity enhancing tool which makes the coder to code faster (which is reflected in our reduced coding fee), but our coder’s coding skill gives you an assurance of above 95% accuracy which is the requirement of OIG auditors.
